The hidden success of President Bush

December 11, 2007

Despite one of the lowest approval ratings of all time, President Bush might be more successful than the average American thinks.

Recent polls placing President Bush’s approval numbers near 30 percent miss an important distinction: The policies and positions the president has advocated since 2001 have led to significant results in recent days. In short, the presidency of George W. Bush is surging, rather than waning, with little more than one year remaining in his term.

I found this article quite interesting, considering the overall public disapproval of the President. Undoubtedly because of the late-blooming Iraq war. The truth is though, the economy is in good shape especially on the job front.; the recent scientific breakthrough on the stem-cell front has been a big victory for moralists and the pro-life crowd; and not to forget that the success in Iraq. Many argue that history will not look kindly upon Bush, but maybe there is time to change that.

Democrats lead hypocritical assault against CIA Head

December 11, 2007

Senate Intelligence Chairman Jay Rockefeller is leading the hypocritical assault against CIA Director Michael Hayden, saying that many questions were left unanswered in regards to the destruction of tapes of CIA interrogations.

Well apparently, Rockefeller has a short memory, because he, along with current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, were given a virtual tour of a CIA detention site in 2002. And apparently, they were not only approving of the techniques used, but they were encouraging tougher punishments. This from an article in the Washington Post.
