Vegetable stew no more…

I think it is safe to say that in elementary school we were all told: “America is a melting pot.”

That held true for me for a very long time. Until my World History II class in high school, actually. My teacher, Billy Miles, a man I respect very much, said to the class: “America isn’t a melting pot, America is a pot of vegetable stew.” This was only fitting, as Miles was a football coach and a very stout man.
